Under the hood sits Toyota Gazoo Racing's 2.4-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine, tuned to deliver 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque through a rear-wheel-drive layout.¹ Power goes to the ground through your choice of a crisp 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

The GR86's front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout naturally distributes weight for sharper, more predictable cornering. The low-mounted boxer engine drops the center of gravity, and the unibody frame — blending high-strength steel and aluminum — keeps the structure rigid without adding unnecessary weight.

Design

Purposeful Design, Inside and Out

With a long hood, a short rear deck, and racing-inspired proportions, the GR86 looks like it belongs on a track — because it was designed alongside one. Functional front-fender air vents channel air around the body, adding stability and reducing drag at speed.

Inside, the driver-centric cockpit is all business: turbine-style vents, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, silver-finished center console toggles, dual-zone climate control, and available heated leather-trimmed seats. And when you need to carry extra track equipment, the rear seats fold flat to expand cargo room.

Technology

Connected and Ready

The GR86 keeps the cabin connected without overwhelming the driving experience. An 8-inch touchscreen display anchors the center stack with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, while the 7-inch TFT GR digital gauge cluster keeps all critical performance data where you can read it at a glance.
